Britain’s Most Ludicrous Laws
If you should ever find yourself in England visiting the Houses of Parliament, keep in mind that British law makes it illegal to die there, although the penalty could never be as severe as the crime. England also bans the eating of mince pies on Christmas Day, but half of those asked admit to breaking this law. These are among the U.K.’s most ludicrous laws, as voted in a poll conducted by UKTV Gold.

- It is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British king or queen’s image upside-down.
- It is illegal for a woman to be topless in Liverpool except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.

- If someone knocks on your door in Scotland and requires the use of your toilet, you are required to let them enter.
